About Patricia
Patricia has been living and working on the Isle of Skye for the past 25 years. Her work is informed and inspired by the powerful landscape of the island.
“My work has developed in a kind of isolation both in location and in the methods I use to form my pieces. This is a place where I can feel small and insignificant in the face of monumental natural forces.”
The pieces are made by hand building, texturing, stretching and carving. Colours are achieved most of all by the firing processes: raku firing; wood firings; glazed stoneware; saggar firing. This gives Patricia’s work a wide range of textures and densities of surface and body, reflecting the varied geology of the land
Patricia is a selected member of the Craft Potters’ Association of Great Britain. Her work is collected internationally and she has work in several national and international collections, including Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
